Drug offences kick off the new year

KINGAROY Police responded to five separate drug related offences in the South Burnett between January 7 and January 13.
On Thursday, January 10 at 11.15pm Kingaroy Police intercepted what appeared to be a suspicious vehicle and pedestrian on Haly St in Kingaroy.
Their search allegedly found drug-related material.
Subsequently a 27-year-old Nanango woman is set to appear in the Nanango Magistrates Court on February 14 charged with possessing dangerous drugs, and utensils (or pipes) that had been used.
A 25-year-old Nanango man will also appear in the Nanango Magistrate Court on February 14 charged with possessing dangerous drugs.
On Friday, January 11 at 12am KingaroyPolice intercepted a 34-year-old Kingaroy woman and 26-year-old Memerambi man on Doonkuna St driving a Toyota Starlet.
Upon searching the vehicle, police allegedly found knives and drug-related material.
The man will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on February 4 charged with possession of a knife in a public place and possessing drug utensils (or pipes).
The woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on February 4 charged with possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a prior drug offence.
On Saturday, January 12 at 8.38am Kingaroy Police intercepted a 39-year-old Tingoora man riding a motorcycle along the rail trail.
After investigating police found the motorbike was unregistered and uninsured.
The man was then searched, and police allegedly found drug and weapon related items.
The man will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on February 18 charged with driving unregistered and uninsured, driving whilst unlicensed, driving whilst disqualified or restricted, possessing weapons, possessing dangerous drugs, and possessing things for use or used in the administration, consumption, smoking of a dangerous drug.
