A determined Dalby AFL player is just one of two selected to represent her hometown at a statewide competition this weekend.
Twelve-year-old Allie-mae Coman has amazed her community since she began playing AFL aged seven.
The Dalby State High School student will compete at the Darling Downs 13 to 15-year-old state championships in Brisbane from May 25 to May 28.

“She had never played any sports as a young child and when our friends encouraged her to give one game of AFL a crack, way back in 2018, she absolutely fell in love with footy,” Ms Smith said.
“She is obsessed with helping her teammates, soaking up the atmosphere and just being on the field.
“She is such a powerful player.”
A dedicated player for the Dalby Swans since 2018, Coman also trained with the Kingaroy All Saints team for the last two years.
She trains four nights a week and often participates in Saturday morning park runs to keep up her fitness.
“I hope one day I can play for the Brisbane Lions,” she said.
Coman’s parents have estimated the trip to Brisbane will cost more than $1500 including travel and accommodation.
They created a Go Fund Me page for the community to get behind this opportunity for the region to be represented on a Queensland stage.
“Her dad drives from Dalby to Toowoomba and back each Wednesday for training,” Ms Smith said.
“I’d like to give a huge shoutout to Sandy Banks from All Saints in Kingaroy for welcoming her to their training sessions.
Coman hopes to follow the path of other girls in the industry who have progressed to state and national levels.
Her mother said she was immensely proud of the power and commitment her daughter had for AFL and was excited to see where the competition took her.
