Coolabunia crash: Man, 40s, flow to Brisbane after serious truck, car crash on highway

A man in his 40s has been flown to hospital, spending more than an hour trapped in his car following a horror car and truck crash on a rural highway. Full details:

A man in his 40s has been freed from his flipped car after a collision with a truck sent his car rolling at Coolabunia, southeast of Kingaroy.

The man suffered serious injuries to his shoulder and leg, with emergency crews working for more than an hour to rescue him from the vehicle.

The man has been flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in a serious condition.

Crews were called to the scene on D’Aguilar Highway just before noon.

Two other people have been taken to Kingaroy Hospital in stable conditions, one with an injury to their chest and the other sustaining arm injuries.

The truck was left lying on its side in a ditch off the highway, with the man’s car also on its side nearby.

The highway is closed with police diverting traffic at Gipps Street and Peterson Drive.
