Families in need across the South Burnett have benefitted from a record year for Christmas hamper deliveries.
The Bill Hull Car Centre, South Burnett CTC and various South Burnett businesses have collaborated for the fifth annual South Burnett Food Drive.
A record breaking 120 Christmas hampers were delivered on Tuesday to South Burnett families in need.
Organiser Dana Coe said Bill Hull came on board as they wanted to give back to the community and she added that the South Burnett CTC were wonderful supporters.
“The Local Police station has also been part of the Food Drive for many years and each year it was grown with more local organisations wanting to be involved,” Ms Coe said.
“The hampers go directly back to people and families in the South Burnett Community and helps lift spirits at Christmas time, which can be a difficult time for many.
“Each year the support grows, last year we were able to donate 105 hampers, this year we were able to make up 120 hampers, which is so amazing.
“We receive the food from all the drop off locations and people donate directly to us as well, then we organise the food and pack into boxes and take up to CTC who then make them up in to hampers and distribute them, so it really is a group effort.”
South Burnett CTC chief executive officer Nina Temperton said for some it was the difference between eating or not.
“For most it is allowing them to have a little treat that they otherwise couldn’t afford and a reminder that people care,” Mrs Temperton said.
