South Burnett best NAPLAN 2022 schools revealed

The 2022 NAPLAN results have finally been released, revealing the South Burnett schools which achieved top marks. See how your school performed.

South Burnett’s top performing schools from NAPLAN 2022 can be revealed.

Results from last year’s tests show St John’s Lutheran School was the highest performer for Year 9 and Tanduringie State School for Year 5.

Analysis from the 2022 results showed Tanduringie State School in Pimpimbudgee scored an average of 541.4 across the five test subjects – reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation and numeracy.

Acting principal Natasha Haselam said they were very proud of the Year 5 cohort for their “amazing results”.

“They are an amazing group of children who are engaged learners,” she said.

Tanduringie State School was closely followed by Harlin State School which had an average of 513.2, and Coolabunia State School with 507.4.

  2. Harlin State School: 513.2
  3. Coolabunia State School: 507.4
  4. Wooroolin State School: 505.0
  5. Kumbia State School: 500.8
  6. St Mary's Catholic College: 491.0
  7. St John's Lutheran School: 490.8
  8. Wheatlands State School: 485.8
  9. St Patrick's Primary School: 483.0
  10. Kilkivan State School: 467.0

Local principal shares her thoughts on feminism

With an average of 586.0, St John's Lutheran School, in Kingaroy, was the top performing secondary school in the region.

Principal Karyn Bjelke-Petersen said NAPLAN was a good marker to show how the school was travelling.

“We provide quality teaching, in hopes that every child can experience success in their learning,” she said.

“Our staff are dedicated, spending many hours outside of school days, and working closely with the parents and students.”

In second place, St Mary's Catholic College scored an average of 557.2, followed by Nanango State High School with an average of 550.0.

  2. St Mary's Catholic College: 557.2
  3. Nanango State High School: 550.0
  4. Kilkivan State School: 544.2
  5. Kingaroy State High School: 530.0
  6. Murgon State High School: 528.0
  7. Goomeri State School: 523.4
  8. Yarraman State School: 506.0
  9. Proston State School: 505.8
  10. Wondai State School: 450.0

The figures were independently compiled from the Federal Government‘s MySchool website.

 Special schools, schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects were exempt from the analysis.
