99th Murgon Show returns this weekend with a new upgrade
The annual Murgon Show kicks off this Friday and there will be something for everyone, including a jam packed program, live music, competitions, exhibits and rides for the children. Here’s everything you need to know.

Refurbishments to the Murgon showgrounds have been finished just in time for the 99th annual Murgon Show which kicks off on Friday, March 17.
The additions include an increased seating capacity of 200 people, new bar and shade area, two earth ramps and a new arena which is set to host rodeos, bike riding events, horse events and dog events.
Miniature horses will be in the new arena, alongside a jam packed program, with various activities and attractions, live music and even a mini train.
Murgon Society president Alan Eagleson said a three-carriage mini train will transport Show-goers to four different drop off points around the showgrounds for free.
“This year, there will be also be a full grand parade for the first time in the last four to five years, which will be led by a horse bearer and include horses, stud cattle, cars old and new, and tractors new and antique.”

There will also be cattle and dog show judging, a whip cracking show, motorbike races, a local ute muster as well as toad racing, billy boiling, hay stacking for kids and round bale racing.
The Australian Army Pep Band will play at the Pavilion on Saturday from mid-morning to lunchtime, surrounded by all different types of displays.
One display to check out will be a new museum in Murgon, Ancient Songbird Centre, opening on May 20.
The Murgon show will begin at 4:30pm Friday, March 17 and finish with fireworks at 7pm Saturday, March 18.
Held at the Murgon showgrounds, tickets for the show are $10 for Adults, $8 concession, $5 for students (12-17 years old) and free for anyone under 12.
