South Burnett Regional Council approves new fast food outlet on corner of Youngman St

A new fast food option is set to appear in Kingaroy, after the council gave approval for a new development in the CBD.

Kingaroy will soon boast another drive-through restaurant, with the council approving a new development in the CBD.

South Burnett Regional Council approved the proposed fast food venue on the corner of Youngman and Alford streets on October 8.

The development will take place on the former South Burnett Medical Centre site, which is currently used by the Lives Lived Well drug and alcohol service.

The 2020 sqm development will include outdoor and indoor dining areas and a double-lane drive-through section.

It’s not confirmed what restaurant will be based at the site, with documents seen by the South Burnett Times stating this will be determined later.

The buildings presently on the site will be demolished and the site levelled.

Traffic will enter and exit the site from Alford St, opposite the KFC building.

Council officers found the development was compliant with local planning laws and would suit the CBD.

While no time frames are included in the application documents, the approval of the development will only be valid for six years.
