A 46-year-old woman police say fell asleep at the wheel before crashing through a barbed wire fence off the Bunya Highway has been charged with unlicensed driving.
Emergency crews were called to Memerambi, near Kingaroy, at 1am Thursday after a car left the road and hit an embankment.
The Hyundai hatchback crashed through a tree and barbed wire fence before coming to a stop.
Kingaroy officer-in-charge David Tierney said investigations suggested the unlicensed Narangba woman fell asleep at the wheel and swerved onto the wrong side of the road.
Senior Sergeant Tierney said the woman woke up and attempted to steer back to the correct side, but overcorrected and continued too far to the left.
She was not injured in the crash.
The woman was charged with driving unlicensed and is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on September 1.
