A cattleman in the South Burnett has been airlifted from his property after hitting an anthill with his farm bike while mustering.
The Sunshine Coast-based LifeFlight aeromedical crew airlifted a man aged in his 70s to hospital following the accident on his property at Ballogie, north west of Kingaroy, between Tingoora and Durong in the South Burnett.
The man was mustering cattle on a motorbike at a private property when he struck an ant hill.
The LifeFlight crew was able to land the chopper in a paddock close to the incident about 11am.
Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics and a LifeFlight critical care doctor treated the man, who had shoulder and “quite significant” chest injuries.
He was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
