Six injured after boat crashes into tree near Rockhampton

A person has been flown to hospital following a boat crash in Rockhampton on New Year’s Day.

Ten people, including six children, have been involved in a boat crash on the Fitzroy River near Rockhampton today.

A PERSON has been seriously injured following a major boat crash on the Fitzroy River near Rockhampton on New Year’s Day.

A further 9 people, including some with serious injuries, required attention from emergency services.

Four children have been treated for shoulder, back and leg pain, and another for bruises. Two other children were not injured.

Other adults at the scene have sustained cuts, shoulder and chest injuries.

It is believed the accident happened when the boat collided with a tree near Alton Downs about 4.30 this afternoon.
