Triple M Brisbane’s breakfast radio show is in for another shake up after comedian Nick Cody announced a move south of the border.
In a blow for the breakfast program, Cody, who co-hosts The Big Breakfast with Greg “Marto” Martin and Margaux Parker, announced today that he would return to his native Melbourne to join Fox FM’s Fifi Box and Brendan Fevola in 2021.
His departure after two years marks another change for the breakfast show, which lost Robin Bailey in late 2019 and brought Parker into the hot seat.

Cody had joined the show earlier that year, replacing Lawrence “The Moonman” Mooney in the typically transient comedian role previously occupied by Ed Kavalee, who left in 2017 to also move south of the border.
Despite opening 2020 on top in the breakfast radio ratings, the new breakfast trio has dropped in the two radio surveys since the COVID-19 pause.
In the penultimate survey of the year released earlier this month, the show dropped to fifth overall with just a 9.8 per cent audience share – putting them behind FM rivals Nova 106.9 and B105 as well as 4BC and ABC Brisbane on the AM dial.

But with the global pandemic seeing large cuts across radio in Queensland, the vacant seat will be hotly contested among comedians and radio presenters looking for secure income.
Triple M Content Director Scott Menz confirmed both Martin and Parker would remain on air in 2021.
“What a wild ride it’s been with Nick Cody on Triple M Brisbane’s The Big Breakfast over the past few years. He’s bought to the show his own style of laconic laughs and has really made a genuine connection with Triple M listeners in Brisbane, he’ll be missed,” Menz said.
“One thing is for certain though, we know he won’t take his maroon jersey off just because he’s headed back to Melbourne, beware the fresh Queenslander.
“Stay tuned for 2021 on Triple M’s The Big Breakfast – with Margaux Parker and, in his 20th year on Brisbane radio, Greg Martin, when big things will happen.”
