Two motorcyclists have died after separate incidents on roads in Brisbane’s northern suburbs.
In the first, 25-year-old died after a crash near the Brisbane Airport.
Police said a passing motorist found the rider’s black Yamaha lying beside Main Myrtletown Rd just after 4pm Sunday.
“The 25-year-old rider from Pinkenba was found nearby and had succumbed to his injuries,” police said.
The road was closed in both directions but had reopened by 6.30pm.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the rider in the area on a black Yamaha motorcycle at that time, or who may have relevant dashcam footage, to contact them.
The second fatality was caused when a car and motorcycle collided at an intersection in Alderley on Sunday night.
Police say early investigations suggest a black Mazda 3 was travelling inbound on South Pine Road and turned right into Railway Street colliding with the motorcycle that had been travelling outbound on South Pine Road.
The male rider of the blue Honda CBR1100, died at the scene.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses.
Elsewhere on Sunday, four people were taken to hospital after a serious head-on crash in Logan.
Two vehicles reportedly collided on Logan Street near Chris Green Park at Beenleigh at about 6.45pm.
The road was closed, with diversions in place. Paramedics, including the High Acuity Response Unit, were still on scene at 7.30pm but QAS said four patients had been taken to the PA Hospital in a stable condition by 8pm.
