One person is in a serious condition and traffic was brought to a standstill on the Bruce Highway after a motorbike became fully engulfed just after midday on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to Bruce Highway at Narangba at 12.10pm following multiple reports of a motorbike on fire.

Upon arrival the motorbike was fully engulfed. QFES were quick to extinguish the blaze

The rider was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported by the critical care unit in a serious condition to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

All three lanes on the Bruce Highway northbound were closed for more than an hour while emergency services attended to the incident, leaving commuters stationary and traffic banked up for more than a kilometre.
