Multiple fire crews responded to a structure fire in Roma that saw a unit destroyed after it was fully engulfed in flame.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said crews received multiple triple-0 calls about 4.55pm on Thursday afternoon to reports of a unit on fire on Chrystal St, Roma.
The spokeswoman said as crews responded they could see smoke billowing from the building, and on arrival they found the building “well involved” in flames.
Five fire crews were on scene, and the fire was contained to the unit as of 6pm.
It is understood that all occupants of the building were accounted for.
Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics and Queensland Police Service officers were on scene as well as Ergon Energy.
On Friday morning, fire investigators returned to the scene to establish a cause for the fire, as the family who lost everything turns to the community for support.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said both units in the duplex were destroyed in the blaze.
“No one was injured and a crime scene was declared,” the spokesman said.
“Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.”
