The man, aged in his 20s, was chasing a steer on horseback on Monday afternoon, shortly after 4pm, and he had fallen off his horse.
After being thrown from the horse and landing on the ground in front of the animal, the man was trampled.
The man was knocked unconscious with RACQ LifeFlight helicopter arriving to the scene shortly after.
Lifeflight transported the man to Roma Hospital, where he was taken in a stable condition.
It is the third horse fall patient flown by RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crews in as many days, after two women were flown in the Toowoomba Region on Saturday.
Tasked by Queensland Health, the LifeFlight SGAS helicopter and crew performed this mission as part of the SGAS partners’ commitment to providing community aeromedical coverage.
