Emergency services spent nearly an hour on scene battling a fierce vehicle fire on the Warrego Highway in Roma yesterday.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews, assisted by police and ambulance crews, arrived near the Bungil Creek Bridge just before 11am on Monday November 21.
A QFES spokeswoman said the incident was sparked when a van caught fire, which was “well alight” when firefighters arrived.
“The fire was under control by 11.10am and completely out by 11.30am,” she said.
Once the fire was extinguished, Roma police took charge of the scene and launched an investigation, however have deemed the cause of the blaze to be a fault with the van.
“There were no injuries to people or damage to any further property, thankfully,” a QPS spokesman said.
“We’re treating the fire as non-suspicious. We believe the fire was due to a vehicle fault with the van.”
Police were the last to leave the scene at 11.45am.
