RUGBY LEAGUE: The local old boys at Masters Rugby League Club are hosting a community awareness event towards 'Stop Bullying' on Friday night.

The event will involve a family fun atmosphere game of lawn bowls, a barbecue and laughter.

Club President Gavin Waters said he is excited for the event.

"Some of the Masters members have been affected by bullying personally or have seen friends and family members being victims, so we want to let the community have a voice towards bullying, rather than to be a bystander,” he said.

"St George Lifeline Darling Downs and the Balonne Shire Domestic & Family Violence Prevention Panel will be at the event in person to support the Masters.”

Waters said it is an opportunity for the club to give back to the community.

"We have been in the community for almost a decade now and its over the last couple of years we as a club feel the need to contribute back into the community, so we're giving this event a crack,” he said.

The event will be held at the St George Bowling Club this Friday, November 23, running from 6pm till 9pm and will cost $10 per person which includes a BBQ dinner.

To register call the Bowls Club on 4625 3331.
