22-year-old Roma man charged with threatening violence, causing fear and drug driving

A 22-year-old Roma man allegedly confronted a group of people in a CBD store while armed with a knife and tomahawk. Here’s what we know so far.

A Roma man who allegedly brandished a number of weapons during a confrontation in a CBD store has faced court.

Roma police officer-in-charge Duane Frank said police received reports that a 22-year-old man was causing a disturbance at a Raglan Street business on Saturday.

The Roma man entered the business about 5pm on November 12 while allegedly armed with a number of items, including a knife and a tomahawk, before confronting a group of people.

Senior Sergeant Frank said the man was charged with threatening violence, two counts of being armed as to cause fear and drug driving.

Police confirmed no one was physically injured.

The offender was held in custody until his appearance in court on Monday, November 14.
