Central Queensland’s incredible Lotto luck continues, with the latest winner a Yeppoon grandmother who claimed $1.3m in Saturday night’s draw.
This is the 12th major lottery prize to come to the region this year, with the players collectively taking home more than $60m in prize money.
Among them is a Rockhampton couple who bagged a whopping $50m in Powerball on November 28.
An official from The Lott surprised them with the life-changing news, just as they did the latest recipient who was completely oblivious to her good fortune.
It also came at a good time for the woman who, because of illness, is unable to celebrate Christmas with family.
“Oh my God, really?” she asked when contacted.
“I’m in shock. What a surprise.
“We’ve had a bad start to this week. We’ve gotten sick and won’t be able to see family for Christmas, so this has really lifted our spirits.
“I had absolutely no idea about the win.”
The woman said she normally marked her own numbers but because she was “away from home for a bit”, opted to buy a 12-game QuickPick online.
She plans to share her bounty around.
“I don’t have an exact idea but one thing I know for sure is that I’ll be sharing the prize with family,” she said.
“Thank you so much.”
The winning numbers that earned her the $1,350,452.62 prize were 44, 27, 38, 18, 9 and 25, while the supplementary numbers were 23 and 7.
She was one of four Division 1 winners on Saturday, with two in Victoria and the other in Western Australia.
