Central Queensland man, 60s, mauled by dog suffers serious injuries as search continues for animal

Council has confirmed it is aware of the incident as the man was airlifted to Rockhampton following the serious attack. Here’s what we know.

Authorities are searching for the dog involved in a serious mauling attack which saw a Central Queensland man airlifted to hospital with facial injuries and lacerations.

An Agnes Water man in his 60s was airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition following the incident at a private residence on Monday morning.

About 8.30am, emergency services responded to the incident at Panorama Cl, Agnes Water where the man suffered facial injuries, as well as injuries to his upper body including lacerations and a puncture wound.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene before transporting him to a nearby sports field where he was collected by the RACQ CapRescue chopper.

On-board critical care paramedics treated the patient before airlifting him to Rockhampton in a serious but stable condition.

Agnes Water Police reported the incident to Gladstone Regional Council who have now begun investigating the incident.

Gladstone Regional Council could not confirm whether the dog has been located or seized by authorities.

Council could not say whether the man was known to the animal.
