KTM Australian Junior Motocross Championships at Rockhampton and District Motocross Club’s Six Mile Raceway September 28-October 1
More than 300 competitors are travelling from all over the country and across the Tasman for the four-day KTM Australian Junior Motocross Championships in Rockhampton. The line-up includes the rising stars of the sport. FULL LIST HERE.

It’s been a long time coming but the Australian Junior Motocross Championships will finally rev into gear in Rockhampton this week.
The Rockhampton and District Motocross Club was set to host the championships in 2020 and then 2021 but both were cancelled due to Covid.
Finally they get their chance and the club is ready to put Rockhampton on the motocross map.
A field of 310 riders will compete in the four-day, KTM-sponsored event, which runs from Wednesday to Saturday at Six Mile Raceway at Pink Lily.
The sign-on and pit set set-up will be on Tuesday.
Debbie Dark, RADMX’s nationally accredited race secretary, is excited to see the championships go ahead.
“It’s a great thing for our club,” she said.
“It only comes to Queensland once every seven years and to come to somewhere regional is a big coup for us and a great endorsement of our venue.”
There will be competition in 12 classes from seven years to under-16.
Queensland has the largest contingent with 109 riders. New South Wales has 83 and Victoria 46.
Riders will also travel from the Northern Territory, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania, and seven will make the journey from New Zealand.
A number of the riders are part of national development teams such as Yamaha Junior, GasGas Australia, Honda Australia, Cobra Australia and KTM Australia.
Dark said spectators would be treated to full-throttle action, and she urged them to come out in force for the event.
“This will be top-quality racing. People will be amazed at just what these kids can do on a track on a dirt bike,” she said.
Racing starts at 8am each day. Entry is $20 a carload which is a four-day pass.
