Hot on the heels of his PBR State of Origin heroics, Central Queenslander Thomas Triplett has landed one of the biggest coups of his career.
The 19-year-old from Bungundarra is set for the world’s biggest bull-riding stage, drafted to the Oklahoma Wildcatters for the PBR Teams Series in the United States.
Calliope brothers Macaulie and Boston Leather have also received the coveted call-up.
Macaulie, 24, the 2023 PBR Australia champion, is headed to the Texas Rattlers where he joins another Central Queensland star in Clermont’s Brady Fielder.
Younger brother Boston, the 2024 PBR Australia champion and Rookie of the Year, is bound for the Missouri Thunder.
The trio will be keen to emulate the feats of Fielder, who just capped off an epic campaign at the 2025 PBR World Finals in Arlington, Texas.
He won the prestigious Lane Frost/Brent Thurman Award for the highest-marked ride of the finals and also locked in a top 10 individual finish, with the Rattlers clinching the overall teams championship title.
Triplett proved his mettle in the opening round of the State of Origin series in Newcastle earlier this month.
Despite aggravating an injury in his riding hand, the debutant scored twice on rarely ridden bulls to lead the Maroons to a memorable come-from-behind victory against New South Wales.
Triplett and his Queensland teammates will look to wrap up the series when Round 2 bucks into the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on June 7.
PBR Australia’s Glen Young said the success of Fielder and the newly drafted riders proved Aussie bull riders were a global force.
“Brady has shown that our Aussie riders are truly world class,” he said.
“We’re incredibly proud of the talent coming out of PBR Australia.
The structure, training and events here prepare our athletes for the biggest stage – and this draft proves just that.
“These boys are headed into battle, but they’re ready and they’re going to fly the Aussie flag high.”
