Seven people taken to hospital after e-scooter, car crashes in Central Queensland

Five people were taken to Rockhampton Hospital overnight Saturday after a two-vehicle smash and a separate incident involving an e-scooter.

Two others were taken to Gladstone Hospital after a vehicle crashed into a pole and caught fire.

At 9.37pm, paramedics attended a two-vehicle crash on Dean Street, North Rockhampton.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said in that incident, an adult male and three teenagers sustained minor injuries and were taken to Rockhampton Hospital, all in stable conditions.

At 2.43am on Sunday, paramedics were called to an e-scooter incident on East Street, in the south Rockhampton suburb of Depot Hill.

A QAS spokesperson said a man suffered chest injuries and was taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.

It was a busy night for the Central Queensland region’s paramedics who earlier attended a serious single-vehicle crash at Gladstone where a vehicle hit a pole on Hanson Road at 8pm on Saturday and caught fire.

Paramedics, including critical care paramedics, were required at the scene.

A QAS spokesperson said a teenage male sustained serious leg injuries and he was taken to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition.

A male in his 20s sustained minor injuries and he was also taken to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition.
