Two men hospitalised after single-vehicle crash into pole on Hanson Rd, Gladstone

UPDATE: Police are now seeking information from the public after critical care paramedics were called to assist following a car colliding with a pole in Gladstone on Saturday night, leaving one man seriously injured. Details here.

UPDATE: As of the 1st of August Police are now seeking assistance from the public regarding a single vehicle crash of a blue holden commodore on Saturday the 31st of July at roughly 8pm along Hanson Road. Anyone with dashcam footage of a blue holden commodore in the area at the time, or with information, is urged to contact Gladstone Police.

Two young men were hospitalised after the vehicle they were in crashed into a power pole and then burst into flames in Gladstone overnight.

Paramedics, including critical care paramedics, attended the scene of the crash on Hanson Rd, Gladstone, at 8pm on Saturday.

A teenage male sustained serious leg injuries and a second male, in his 20s, sustained minor injuries.

Both men were taken to Gladstone Hospital in stable conditions.

Two Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews were also required after the vehicle and the transformer caught fire.

A QFES spokeswoman said it took the crews about an hour to have the fire under control and make the scene safe.

Queensland police and Energex also attended the scene.

This crash came days after the Bruce Highway was closed in both directions, south of Gladstone, for more than an hour after three separate crashes in the Boyne-Tannum region caused traffic chaos.
