Assault at Blackman's Gap

A man has been charged with assault after a video of him punching women at a Gladstone region watering hole went viral on social media.

The assault is alleged to have taken place on January 13 at Blackman’s Gap, Boyne Valley, about an hour’s drive from Gladstone or 15 minutes from Miriam Vale.

The footage appears to show the man punching a woman and pushing another woman.

The incident was reported to police by multiple witnesses.

Robert Tissot, a 43-year-old man from Deepwater near Agnes Water, was charged on February 11 with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm and common assault.

He is due to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on March 15.
