Beer lovers will be excited to hear that plans have been submitted to the council for a nanobrewery on one of Yeppoon’s main strips.
A development application submitted to Livingstone Shire Council details the proposed nanobrewery, which would be located at Salt Yeppoon at 32 Anzac Parade.
There is currently a vacant shop front in the bottom left at Salt Yeppoon, next to Stroud Homes.
According to the development application, it would be “one of the first microbrewery developments” within Yeppoon, making it an “attractive premises for locals and non-locals”.
Boutique brewery YEPP Brewing Co opened in March in Hidden Valley, about seven kilometres outside Yeppoon.
The Hidden Valley venue is open as a taproom on weekends, with 10 beers on tap to choose from.
The proposed nanobrewery is to operate like a traditional food and drink outlet, however, includes a series of small brewery canisters that enable on-site brewing.
The nanobrewery only has the capacity to produce about 38,000 litres per annum.
Additional security cameras will be installed internally and externally.
No alterations to Salt Yeppoon are proposed.
