Revealed: Major boat ramp upgrades proposed for Rosslyn Bay Harbour

Three new boat ramp lanes and an extension of a floating walkway are part of major upgrades proposed for Rosslyn Bay Harbour at Yeppoon.

Member for Keppel Brittany Lauga revealed the government’s plans on Friday as she called on the public to have its say on the proposed upgrades.

“The concept the team has come up with includes adding three new ramp lanes to the existing ramps and extending the floating walkway on the western side of the harbour by about six metres,” Ms Lauga said.

“The project team is keen to hear from our community, so I encourage regular users of the ramps to be part of this fantastic project.”

The community consultation process is open now and will run until Friday, September 3.

Ms Lauga said over the past few years, the Queensland Government had invested to make the facilities at Rosslyn Bay better for local boat users and the community.

“Work was completed in 2019 to add more car and trailer spaces at the eastern end of the car park.

“We also completed work on new floating walkways that year and carried out dredging around the ramps to improve access.

“I made a commitment at the last election to improve the harbour’s launching capacity so now we’ve got an initial concept, it’s time for the community to let the team know their thoughts.”
