A rescue helicopter has been tasked to multiple incidents in Central Queensland on Saturday, including a suspected Irukandji jellyfish sting on Heron Island.
RACQ CapRescue was tasked to airlift a woman in her mid-20s to hospital from Heron Island at 8.30am after reports she had suffered a suspected Irukandji jellyfish sting to her upper body, causing her moderate pain.
The woman was reportedly swimming in the waters nearby when she experienced some pain and stinging sensation.
She was flown to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition where she will receive further treatment.
RACQ CapRescue was also tasked to airlift a woman in her late 40s from Stanage Bay on the Capricorn Coast at 1.15pm.
It is understood the woman was walking down the local boat ramp when she slipped on the wet surface, falling backwards which resulted in an injury to her foot.
She was flown to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition, where she will receive further treatment.
