A man has been released from hospital after he was airlifted in a rescue helicopter after a crash southwest of Rockhampton on Thursday.

Paramedics were called to a single-vehicle crash on the Burnett Highway at Dululu about 12.34pm, where a car was understood to have flipped onto its roof.

A spokeswoman for Queensland Ambulance Service said paramedics were treating a man in his 20s who was in a stable condition.

She said the man was suffering shoulder, abdominal and chest pain.

The man was able to remove himself from the vehicle.

No other motorists were involved.

The QAS spokeswoman said a rescue helicopter had been tasked to the incident because of its location.

Paramedics transported the man to the Dululu cricket grounds where RACQ CapRescue’s Rescue300 had landed.

RACQ CapRescue’s on-board medical crew stabilised the man, who had suspected internal injuries, before flying him to Rockhampton Hospital.

A Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service spokeswoman said the man went back home on Thursday.
