QFES faces power pole transformer on fire

Fire crews were called to a busy North Rockhampton intersection Monday morning after a power pole transformer caught fire.

Police are closing the streets around Waterloo, Kerrigan and Stewart Streets to allow QFES access and protect the public.

It is not know whether any houses or businesses are threatened by the fire.

It follows a blaze on Saturday night which razed two buildings in Alma St.
