The smell of smoke lingers in the Rockhampton CBD Sunday morning as fire investigators begin to sift through the remains of two buildings in the CBD.

The Morning Bulletin reported on Saturday night emergency services were called to the flaming PureComm building at 108 Alma St at 5.25pm.

The extent of the blaze can be seen this morning from the street behind the shopping centre and the laneway behind that.

The smaller building to the north of the PureComm facade, which is advertised ‘for sale’, is entirely razed.

There is only a small area between it and the next door neighbours who were at home Sunday morning.
