A Rockhampton mother with a four-page criminal record was tasered by police after yelling “Tase me motherf---er”.

Zanneth Stacey Tilberoo, 29, pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on April 6 to one count of obstructing a police officer.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Sarah Rowe said police were called to a disturbance on Stewart and Dean Streets, Rockhampton, on December 11, 2022, about 11.40pm.

Senior Constable Rowe said police saw several people on the street and Tilberoo became aggressive towards them.

She said Tilberoo started walking fast towards a constable, yelling and clapping her hands, which resulted in the constable pulling out her taser and telling Tilberoo: “Don’t move, get on the ground”.

She said Tilberoo continued walking towards the constable and yelled: “Tase me motherf---er”.

“The defendant ignored all directions and instructions given, which resulted in the taser being deployed at the defendant,” she said.

Defence lawyer Brendan Gimbert said his client, who had three children, was arguing with her partner, heavily intoxicated and in quite a heightened state when police arrived.

“She didn’t recall the event,” Mr Gimbert said.

He said his client was intending to get into drug and alcohol counselling with the Alcohol and Other Drugs Service.

Tilberoo was fined $700 with a criminal conviction recorded.
