Yeppoon Magistrates Court: Drivers plead guilty to drink-driving, drug-driving, unlicensed driving

A Central Queensland man busted drug-driving with methamphetamines in his system was in breach of a suspended jail sentence that he was on. Here’s who got caught.

The following people pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on July 21 to drink-driving or unlicensed driving.

Lisa Kym Bendall, 59, blew a reading of .102 when she was caught driving on Farnborough Road, Yeppoon, on June 22.

The court heard that Bendall lived on an acreage and with no offending of this sort in the past five years, she was eligible to apply for a restricted work licence, but she chose not to do so.

She was fined $650 and disqualified from driving for five months.

Samantha Paige Lusby, 30, was caught driving unlicensed on Farnborough Road on June 1.

The court heard that Lusby’s driver’s licence was SPER suspended in April.

With no offending of this sort on her traffic history, Lusby was fined $300 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Garon Richard Bob, 43, was caught driving with methamphetamines in his system on Archer Street, Rockhampton, on April 17.

The court heard that while Bob had no offending of this sort in the past five years, this offence breached a suspended term of imprisonment that he was on.

A solicitor said Bob was a father of three who was currently on Centrelink benefits while working two to three days per week for a painting company.

Magistrate Jason Schubert fined Bob $500 and disqualified him from driving for two months.

Bob was also committed to the District Court at Rockhampton at a date to be advised for the breach of suspended sentence.

He was granted bail.
