A woman knocked on a man’s door and then smeared blood diagonally over his chest in a “concerningly odd” assault at Biloela.

Ursula Pennywanda Kinai, 32, pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court in August to unlawfully entering a dwelling, unlawful assault, and wilful damage.

The court heard that on February 21 at 4.59pm, the victim, who knew Kinai, phoned Triple-0 to report that he had been assaulted.

The victim told police he answered a knock at the door of his Don Street residence when Kinai stepped inside and used her hand to smear blood diagonally across his chest.

The blood also went onto the victim’s right hand which had an open wound.

The wilful damage charge was a result of Kinai being seen damaging a letter box at the residence by grabbing it at the top, pulling it and causing the metal structure to bend.

Kinai was spoken to by police at the scene but she was too intoxicated to be interviewed.

The court heard Kinai had no criminal history prior to this offending.

Kinai’s solicitor said that Kinai, who works at the RSL Club at Biloela, had woken up at a friend’s house in Don Street on the day of the incident and the next thing she remembered was being at the police station.

“She has no idea why she might have done what she did, and she accepts that she has done those things,” the solicitor said.

Magistrate Jason Schubert described Kinai’s offending as “quite serious”.

“It is concerningly odd behaviour,” Mr Schubert said.

“I’m satisfied you need some rehabilitation and support so that we don’t see this offending occur in the future.”

Mr Schubert placed Kinai on six months’ probation with conditions.

No conviction was recorded.
