Two vehicles collide outside Etna Creek prison, car door cut open for rescue

A driver has received a head injury after their vehicle rolled in a car accident and they became trapped directly outside Capricornia Correctional Centre.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the door of a vehicle and free the driver who was trapped inside.

A driver was trapped and received a head injury after their vehicle rolled in a car accident directly outside Capricornia Correctional Centre.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the incident occurred at 3.55pm and involved two vehicles.

The southbound lane of Yaamba Road is currently subject to traffic closures.

A Queensland Ambulance Service said a person was being assessed on scene with a head injury after their vehicle rolled and trapped them inside.
The other driver has declined treatment from paramedics.
