Traffic offenders who faced Yeppoon Magistrates Court

A truck driver, correctional centre worker and a general manager were among the latest Central Queensland traffic offenders to face court to get their punishment.

The following people pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court recently to traffic offences on the region’s roads.

Yeppoon Magistrates Court, January 19

Traffic conviction recorded

Hannah Bronwyn Jorgensen, 31

Hannah Bronwyn Jorgensen blew a reading of .132 when she was caught drink driving at Yeppoon on December 3.

With no previous offending of this sort, Jorgensen was fined $600 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Jorgensen successfully applied for a restricted work licence for her job as a counsellor at a correctional centre.

Mitchell Joseph O’Maley, 32

Mitchell Joseph O’Maley was caught driving while SPER suspended on Adelaide Park Road, Yeppoon, on November 27.

The court heard O’Maley told police he was unaware his driver’s licence was suspended.

O’Maley told Magistrate Grace Kahlert he worked as a general manager and he was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Garth Michael Burnage, 30

Garth Michael Burnage blew a reading of .164 when he was caught drink driving on Normanby Street, Yeppoon, on December 15.

With a previous drink driving offence on his history from 2020, Burnage, who said he was unemployed, was fined $900 and disqualified from driving for eight months.

Michell Wayne Hazel, 43

Michell Wayne Hazel blew a reading of .135 when he was caught drink driving on Mary Street, Yeppoon, on December 24.

With no similar offending in the past five years, Hazel was fined $750 and disqualified from driving for four months.

He successfully applied for a restricted work licence for his job as a truck driver with Rocky’s Own Transport.

No traffic conviction recorded

Danielle Hannah Rensonnet, 42

Danielle Hannah Rensonnet blew a reading of .203 when she was caught drink driving on Braithwaite Street, Yeppoon, on January 1.

With no traffic history, Rensonnet was fined $1000 and disqualified from driving for seven months.

No traffic conviction was recorded.

Jesse Rick Fowler, 20

Jesse Rick Fowler blew a reading of .144 when he was caught drink driving on McBean Street, Yeppoon, on December 24.

With no previous offending of this sort, Fowler was fined $750 and disqualified from driving for four months.
