A convicted drug supplier has allegedly been found with a stash of meth and cash after evading police. Police say his criminal history shows “he will do anything to escape police”.

A homeless convicted drug supplier has allegedly been found in possession of 9.49g of methamphetamines and more than $8,500 cash suspected to be proceeds of drug crimes.

Trae Charles Passmore, 22, made a bail application in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on January 24 after being charged with possessing drugs, possessing property suspected to be proceeds of crime, trespass, disqualified driving, evade police and possess a drug utensil.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Sarah Rowe said police had not checked Mr Passmore’s proposed bail address in Koongal before the application.

She said his criminal history showed “he will do anything to escape police or avoid police”.

Defence lawyer Rowan King said his client had been found possessing 9.49g of a crystal substance which needed analysing, and possessing $8,585 cash.

He said Mr Passmore was on probation at the time of these alleged offences, which took place about 3.30am, and was disqualified from driving.

The court heard Mr Passmore had been disqualified from driving for two years in September 2020.

He was convicted in 2019 of evading police, assault occasioning bodily harm while armed and in company, a second assault occasioning bodily harm while armed and supply drugs eight times.

Mr Passmore was then convicted in March 2021 for evading police and possessing drugs.

Magistrate Jason Schubert denied Mr Passmore bail, remanding him in custody and adjourning his matters until March 16.
