Taresa Jennifer Manteit launched a foul mouth tirade at police officers outside a Yeppoon hotel

Police were called to a Yeppoon Hotel and when they tried to speak to a man and then arrest him, a woman caused a loud scene which got out of control. Here’s what happened.

A woman who called police officers “f---ing wan-ers” as they tried to arrest a man outside a Yeppoon hotel, has faced court.

Taresa Jennifer Manteit, 44, pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on June 16 to public nuisance in the vicinity of a licensed premises.

Police Prosecutor Sergeant Darrell Dalton said at 9.21pm on February 12, police were called to The Railway Hotel at Yeppoon.

Sgt Dalton said police attempted to speak to a man when Manteit said to officers: “We were walking here, we don’t need to stop.”

“(Manteit) stood in front of police and started to push the male person away from police,” Sgt Dalton said.

The prosecutor said the man was subsequently arrested by police and at that time, Manteit stood in front of police and yelled at them.

Sgt Dalton said police restrained the man and Manteit continued to cause a disturbance in the street and she called police “f---ing wan-ers”.

The court heard Manteit had no similar offending on her history.

Solicitor Krissy Cummins said Manteit was a self-employed support worker who accepted that her behaviour on the night of the offence was not appropriate.

Magistrate Cameron Press fined Manteit $450 and he did not record a conviction.
