Stacie Renee Dutaillis indicted in supreme court on manslaughter

The case against a woman accused of killing a Central Queensland teenager, who was allegedly provided strong pain medication, has reached the supreme court.

A woman accused of killing a Mackay teenager, who was allegedly provided strong pain medication, has been formally indicted in the supreme court.

Stacie Renee Dutaillis is charged with manslaughter over the September 2021 death of Jerome Banu following an incident at a North Mackay home.

Jerome, 15, died of a tramadol overdose and five other children were taken to hospital.

Police allege Ms Dutaillis provided the opioid tramadol to the six children at a Malcomson St home on the night of September 29.

Ms Dutaillis was arrested and charged in Brisbane in April 2022.

The single count indictment was handed up in the Rockhampton Supreme Court on May 25.

Ms Dutaillis’ solicitor Chelsea Cross, of Legal Aid Queensland, said she was seeking a statement of facts and particulars in relation to the matter.

Crown prosecutor Tiffany Lawrence told the court “those matters are still being finalised” and requested an adjournment.

Justice Graeme Crow adjourned the matter to July 25.

Ms Dutaillis is in custody at Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre and did not appear in court.
