Shane John Wragge and Jack Ross Stuart-Sutherland caught drug-driving, Daniel Wayne Middlebrook busted drink-driving

Of the latest offenders to face Biloela Magistrates Court, one was a Banana Shire Council worker who got caught drug-driving. Here’s who else got busted.

Two men pleaded guilty at the latest sitting of Biloela Magistrates Court to drug-driving and another to drink-driving.

The high number of motorists being caught offending on the region’s roads was highlighted at previous sittings of this court when 13 people pleaded guilty on April 20 to drug-driving, drink-driving or driving while unlicensed, while eight offenders pleaded guilty to these types of offences on March 23.

Biloela Magistrates Court, May 11

Shane John Wragge, 49, was caught driving with cannabis in his system at Biloela on December 12 last year.

After he pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on May 11 to drug-driving, solicitor Pierre Lammersdorf said Wragge was a father who worked at Banana Shire Council.

Mr Lammersdorf said Wragge had been using cannabis to calm his nerves and relax, and this was his first drug-driving offence.

Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale fined Wragge $350 and disqualified him from driving for one month.

Wragge successfully applied for a restricted work licence.

Jack Ross Stuart-Sutherland, 30, was caught driving with cannabis in his system on the Dawson Highway at Bauhinia on March 1.

The court heard that Stuart-Sutherland, who lives at Moura, had drug offending on his criminal record but no drug-driving offences on his traffic history.

He was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Daniel Wayne Middlebrook, 37, was caught drink-driving on Gladstone Road, Monto, on April 9.

The court heard that Middlebrook returned a blood alcohol reading of .084.

With no history of this sort, Middlebrook was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for three months.
