One driver was .241 drunk when he crashed a Toyota HiLux into trees, while another was busted drink-driving twice in one night in the same vehicle in a total giveaway to police. Here’s who got caught.

Three drug-drivers and four drink-drivers recently pleaded guilty in a Yeppoon court to their offending.

Here’s who they were:

MAY 5, Yeppoon Magistrates Court:

Daniel Robert Nagy-Clark, 33, was busted driving with methamphetamines in his system on Hill Street, Emu Park, on February 15.

With a recent drug-driving offence on his history from this year, the father of two, who works full-time, was fined $550 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Brady James Darnill, 31, was caught driving with cannabis in his system on Farnborough Road on March 6.

The father of two, who is employed at a farm, was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Eli Jhi Ferricks, 20, was caught drink-driving twice in one night at Yeppoon.

On April 9, about 12.45am, Ferricks blew a reading of .162 after he was intercepted on Power Street.

As a result of that, his driver’s licence was suspended.

Then about 2.05am, police caught Ferricks driving the same vehicle, a Toyota Landcruiser, on Adelaide Park Road - this time returning a reading of .137.

Ferricks pleaded guilty to the two drink-driving charges as well as to unlicensed driving.

The court heard Ferricks had a previous drink-driving offence in 2020.

He was fined $1800 and disqualified from driving for three years and three months.

Stephen Sean Simmonson, 45, pleaded guilty to drink-driving and failing to maintain proper control of a vehicle.

The court heard that on April 11, Yeppoon police were called to a single vehicle crash on Greenlake Road.

When they arrived on scene, police officers saw the Toyota HiLux Simmonson was driving wedged between trees.

Simmonson told police he had swerved to miss a kangaroo.

After a random breath test, he returned a reading of .241.

The court heard Simmonson had a previous drink-driving offence in late 2020.

He was fined $1700 and disqualified from driving for 15 months.

Christopher Allan Langmead, 34, was caught driving with cannabis in his system at Emu Park on February 15.

With no similar offending in the past five years, Langmead was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Heath Gordon Pilcher, 51, blew a reading of .054 when police intercepted him on Farnborough Road on April 2.

With no offending of this sort in the past five years, the restaurant owner was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.
