A man in his 30s will face court next week after allegedly assaulting a reveller at the Lost and Found Music Festival held at Rockhampton Showgrounds on Saturday.
While the event was a huge success, it has been marred by two alleged assaults including one where a woman was knocked unconscious and suffered a serious eye injury.
Yeppoon university student Riqui Vines, 26, was allegedly punched and elbowed in the face by a younger woman who she says was ‘looking for a fight’.
Riqui was knocked unconscious and suffered swelling to her face as well as a nasty eye injury in the alleged assault which remains under investigation by police.
A Queensland Police spokesman confirmed a 33-year-old man had been charged in relation to a separate alleged attack.
The man from Nikenbah, a rural town in the Fraser Coast region, was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm after he allegedly punched a 21-year-old man twice in the head at the festival around 9.30pm.
Police allege the attack caused the victim swelling and the loss of a tooth.
The man is due to appear before Rockhampton Magistrates Court on October 31.
