A woman who stalked her former partner and burgled his home previously created a fake social media profile using another woman’s photographs to start an online relationship with a man.

Nicole Kristeen McClymont, 34, pleaded guilty on May 24 in Rockhampton District Court to one count of stalking and one of burglary.

Defence barrister Sheridan Shaw requested the sentence be adjourned while a psychological report was prepared to assist the sentencing judge.

She said her client had told her previously she had been seeing a psychologist and could get a report.

Ms Shaw said she received the report late in the day on May 23.

“The problem is the person is not a psychologist,” she said.

She said the person was actually a life coach with a Bachelor of Psychology degree.

Ms Shaw said her client was at risk of serving actual time in custody and the report might determine whether she did or didn’t.

She said she was “deeply concerned” her client did have psychological disorders that “would affect her moral culpability”.

The court heard McClymont had entered the Biloela residence of her former partner Alan Grimshaw, stealing a stuffed toy.

She also made more than 3000 calls to Mr Grimshaw between February 28 and May 18, 2021.

Judge Brian Devereaux commented that Mr Grimshaw had changed his locks.

Ms Shaw said he had invited McClymont over and he had returned her SMSs and phone calls and sent emails “which were at times antagonistic”.

She said McClymont stopped after police became involved and had no bail breaches in the past 12 months.

Ms Shaw said McClymont had relocated from Biloela to the Sunshine Coast and “started a new life” working as a beautician while raising her teenage son.

After McClymont entered pleas to her charges, crown prosecutor Harriet Hall-Pearce argued McClymont should be remanded in custody until her sentence, pointing to her history and raising concerns McClymont may interfere with witnesses.

She said McClymont’s convictions in 2016 were the most concerning on her criminal record.

Ms Hall-Pearce said the conviction on her record for using a carriage service to harass in 2012 was related to a different former partner where she sent uninvited texts and voicemails, called her and told her she was a “home wrecking w----” and threatened to harm her if she could find her.

“She occasionally contacted this person posing as other people as a means of making contact and the harassment continued despite that complainant’s requests for the defendant to leave her alone,” Ms Hall-Pearce said.

McClymont was then convicted in 2016 for the same offence, for a different complainant, where she created a fake Facebook account under the alias ‘Sasha’ using the complainant’s Facebook photos.

“She used this online identity to start an online conversation with her ex partner and they eventually began a relationship … that is an online relationship… between the ex-partner and the defendant under that alias,” Ms Hall-Pearce said.

“She contacted the complainant, explained the situation and asked for more photos so she could continue the facade.

“When that complainant refused, she (McClymont) called her workplace multiple times, asked staff for that complainant’s personal information for the purpose, again, of continuing that facade.”

She said all up, there were four victims on McClymont’s criminal history.

Ms Hall-Pearce said at the sentencing, she would be asking for actual time in custody.

Judge Devereaux said despite McClymont’s concerning criminal history and the concerning offences before the court which she had pleaded guilty to, she now lived in a different part of the state to the offence location and had no breaches in the past 12 months, along with having full-time employment and a child to care for.

McClymont’s sentence was adjourned until August 15.
