Mountain bike rider dies while riding track up Mount Archer

A 36-year-old mountain bike rider has tragically died while riding a Mount Archer track in Rockhampton.

A 36-year-old mountain bike rider has tragically died while riding a track up Mount Archer (Nurim) in North Rockhampton on Saturday.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were called to the mountain bike incident on a track at the First Turkey Mountain Bike Park in Norman Gardens at 9.16am.

The spokeswoman said paramedics assessed one patient on scene for multiple critical injuries.

She said the patient was about 1.5km up the track and police were notified to attend.

The First Turkey trail network has 33 trails.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said police would prepare a report for the coroner following the non-suspicious death of the man.
