Rocky Gardens Motor Inn violent armed robbery charges

A man allegedly involved in a violent robbery at a Rockhampton motel last month has had a disturbing offence added to his list of charges.

One of the people allegedly involved in a violent robbery at a Rockhampton motel last month, has had another charge added to their list - torture.

Police received reports of the robbery at the Rocky Gardens Motor Inn on Lower Dawson Road in Allenstown at 5.15am on January 17.

Police believe a group of people attended a room at the motel and assaulted a 25-year-old male guest at the motel and fled with personal items.

The man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Rockhampton Hospital by ambulance in a stable condition and released that day.

Police have charged three people for their alleged involvement.

Chaney Dakin, 22, was charged with one count each of enter dwelling with intent, common assault, armed robbery, wilful damage, assault occasioning bodily harm, and torture.

He appeared in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on January 25 and was refused bail.

He is incarcerated at Capricornia Correctional Centre and is due to appear in court again on March 6.

Harriet-Deanna Maxin Illin was charged by police a few days later, on January 21, in relation to the matter.

The 24-year-old was charged with enter with intent, armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and fraud.

Ms Illin was on a return to prison warrant and a brief of evidence was ordered, Rockhampton Magistrates Court heard on January 23.

Her matter was adjourned to March 6 and she was remanded at the Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre.

Police are searching for other people involved in the robbery.

Anyone with information or footage that might help with the investigation are urged to contact police.

Caytlin Rose A’Herne, 33, was charged with one count each of enter dwelling with intent and armed robbery.

She appeared in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on January 26 and her bail was refused.

She was remanded in custody and is incarcerated at Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre.

She is due to appear in court again on February 29.
