A man has died in hospital two weeks after he suffered serious head injuries when his vehicle rolled near Duaringa.

The man, a 33-year-old from Yaamba, was flown from the scene on January 7 just after 11pm.

Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash between Dingo and Duaringa on the Capricorn Highway, 70km from Rockhampton, around 11pm.

It was reported the Ford Falcon vehicle lost control and exited the highway at high-speed into a ditch, causing the vehicle to roll several times.

Other road users discovered the vehicle afterwards and called triple-zero.

The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Paramedics attended and RACQ Capricorn Rescue flew the man to Rockhampton Hospital in a critical condition.

He was treated for serious head injuries.

On Tuesday, January 30, a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the man had succumbed to his injuries and passed away in hospital on January 23.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.

Police appealed for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam from the nearby area to come forward.

He was treated by paramedics for suspected chest and facial injuries on scene and taken to Rolleston in an ambulance.

RACQ Capricorn Rescue picked him up from there and flew him to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.
