Man charged with going armed to cause fear at Kershaw Gardens

Police were called to an incident in North Rockhampton on Wednesday after concerned members of the public raised the alarm. Read here where police found the man who was charged, and what he allegedly had in his possession.

Police have charged a 32-year-old man in relation to incidents which allegedly occurred at Kershaw Gardens in North Rockhampton on Wednesday morning.

Police said officers were called to Kershaw Gardens shortly after 9.30am following reports of a man allegedly armed with a firearm.

Police said initial information they received from members of the public came from those who had been allegedly approached by the man on two separate occasions.

Police attended and located the man in a public toilet nearby with a gel blaster pistol.

He was taken into custody without incident.

The man has been charged with two counts of going armed so as to cause fear and possession of a knife in a public place.

He is due to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court this week.
