Four mates have faced a Central Queensland court after a prank they were involved in got them in trouble with the law.

Aaden Wilhelm Naumann-Otto, 20, Jackson Tetaka Davis, 19, Joel Robert Weeks, 21, and Aiden Spratt, 20, appeared in Biloela Magistrates Court on February 8.

All of their respective charges stemmed from their behaviour at, and near, Biloela Hotel on December 7 last year.

All of the men pleaded guilty to stealing.

Police prosecutor Kelvin Boyd said the four men were at Biloela Hotel when they were refused service.

After exiting the venue, the four men were involved in stealing a regulated parking sign that belonged to Banana Shire Council, the court heard.

The court was told that two days later, the men attempted to return the sign.

Aaden Naumann-Otto also pleaded guilty to public nuisance in the vicinity of a licensed premises.

Mr Boyd said Naumann-Otto had made rude comments to a female bar attendant and yelled at her “to stick her money up her ar--”

The court heard Naumann-Otto had “relevant” previous public nuisance in the vicinity of licensed premises offending on his history.

A self-represented Naumann-Otto told Magistrate Philippa Beckinsale he was employed as an apprentice plumber with the local council.

He was fined $600, placed on a good behaviour order for six months with a $200 recognisance, and no convictions were recorded.

Jackson Tetaka Davis also pleaded guilty to public nuisance in the vicinity of a licensed premises.

The court heard he had made comments to a bar attendant.

Davis, employed and with no history, was placed on a six-month good behaviour order with a $500 recognisance and no convictions were recorded.

Joel Robert Weeks also pleaded guilty to stealing a bar mat from Biloela Hotel on December 7.

Mr Boyd said police viewed CCTV footage which showed Weeks roll up a bar mat and conceal it, before walking out of the hotel with the item.

With wilful damage and public nuisance offending on his history, Weeks, employed as a trades assistant with the local council, was placed on a six-month good behaviour order with a $200 recognisance, and no convictions were recorded.

Aiden Spratt also pleaded guilty to public nuisance in the vicinity of a licensed premises and driving without due care and attention, both on December 7.

Mr Boyd said on the day of the Biloela Hotel incidents, the four men left the venue in a dual cab ute driven by Spratt, a P-plater, with no lights on.

The prosecutor said in the back of the ute, the sign pole was “overhanging by a large distance”.

Mr Boyd said on Callide Street, the vehicle was heard “spinning tyres”.

With no history, Spratt, a mine worker, was fined $500 and placed on a six-month good behaviour order with a $500 recognisance.

A traffic conviction was recorded but no criminal convictions were.
