Drink-drivers and drug-drivers who faced Yeppoon Magistrates Court

As police warn the public they are cracking down on drink and drug-driving this Christmas period, numerous people have already faced court for their recent offending.

As police issue motorists with a warning that they will be cracking down on drink-driving and drug-driving this Christmas period, a number of people have pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court in recent weeks to their offending.

Traffic convictions recorded

Trent Kircher, 36

Kircher had both methamphetamine and cannabis in his system when police caught him driving near Inala on September 22.

Kircher pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on December 7 to drug-driving.

The court heard that Kircher was an excavator driver in the mining industry and he was prescribed medicinal cannabis.

With no offending of this sort in the past five years, Kircher was fined $600 and disqualified from driving for two months.

Maddison May Busk, 19

P-plater Busk had methamphetamine in her system when police caught her driving on Yeppoon Road on April 9.

Busk pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on December 7 to drug-driving.

The court heard that since the offence, Busk, who was on Jobseeker Allowance, had engaged with Alcohol and Other Drug Service (AODS).

With no prior similar offending, she was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Zachariah Aitken, 44

Aitken blew a reading of .063 after police caught him driving on the Scenic Highway on November 5.

Aitken pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on December 7 to drink-driving.

With no offending of this sort in the past five years, Aitken, a commercial fisherman, was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Emily Anne Gornall, 22

P-plater Gornall blew a reading of .095 after police intercepted her driving on the Scenic Highway on November 5.

Gornall pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on November 30 to drink-driving.

With no similar offending of this sort, Gornall was fined $400 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Jayden Charles Wills, 27

Wills blew a reading of .097 after police caught him driving on Yeppoon Road, Bondoola, on October 27.

Wills pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on November 30 to drink-driving.

With no prior offending of this sort, Wills was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Donovan blew a reading of .079 after police intercepted her driving on the Scenic Highway on November 5.

Donovan pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on November 30 to drink-driving.

With no similar offending in the past five years, Donovan, a disability support worker and single mum, was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Matthew Richard Sharland, 35

Sharland blew a reading of .135 when police caught him driving on James Street, Yeppoon, on October 28.

Sharland pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on November 16 to drink-driving.

With no prior history of this sort, Sharland, a carpenter, was fined $750 and disqualified from driving for six months.

Patrik Mikael Soergel, 53

Soergel blew a reading of .061 after police intercepted him driving on Arthur Street, Yeppoon, on November 3.

Soergel pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on November 16 to drink-driving.

With no prior offending of this sort, Soergel was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

He successfully applied for a restricted work licence for his job as a machine operator.
