Drink drivers who faced Yeppoon Magistrates Court
A truck driver, a landscaper and a builder’s labourer were among the Capricorn Coast drink drivers to face Yeppoon court with fines totalling more than $5000 handed out.

The following people pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court to drink driving offences.

Tyron Jay Savage, 25
Savage failed to provide a specimen of breath after police intercepted him on Arthur Street, Yeppoon, about 11.50pm on November 8.
He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on November 28 to failing to provide a specimen of breath and failing to comply with a late-night driving restriction as a P-plater.
The court heard Savage initially returned a blood alcohol reading of .255 but later failed to provide a specimen of breath as required.
With no similar offending in the past five years, Savage, a builder’s labourer, was fined $1500 and disqualified from driving for 12 months.
A traffic conviction was recorded.
Steven Patrick Connors, 56
Connors blew a reading of .089 after police intercepted him on Hartley Street, Emu Park, on November 3.
He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on November 28 to drink driving.
With no similar offending in the past five years, Connors was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for three months.
A traffic conviction was recorded.
Zayden Marshall Edworthy, 19
Edworthy was unlicensed and blew a reading of .021 (over the no-alcohol limit) when police intercepted him on Appleton Drive, Emu Park, on September 22.
Then on November 2, he returned a reading of .156 after police stopped him on Stanley Avenue, Yeppoon.
Edworthy pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on November 28 to two counts of drink driving, and unlicensed driving.
A self-represented Edworthy told the court he would lose his job as a result of this offending.
He was fined $1550 and disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Summer Jade Stringer, 22
Stringer blew a reading of .093 after police intercepted her on the Scenic Highway at Mulambin, on October 4.
She pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court to drink driving.
With one previous similar offence in the past five years, Stringer was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for three months.
A traffic conviction was recorded.
Colin Peter Wright, 72
Wright blew a reading of .102 after police intercepted him on Keppel Sands Road, Coowonga, on November 10.
He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on November 28 to drink driving.
With one previous similar offence in the past five years, Wright was fined $650 and disqualified from driving for eight months.
A traffic conviction was recorded.
Hayden Scott Fairbanks, 29
Fairbanks blew a reading of .080 after police caught him driving on Hill Street, Emu Park, on October 26.
He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on November 21 to drink driving.
With no prior similar offending, Fairbanks, a landscaper, was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for three months.
A traffic conviction was recorded.

Michael Patrick Magennis, 62
Magennis blew a reading of .062 after he was intercepted by police on the Scenic Highway at Taranganba, on October 18.
He pleaded guilty in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on November 28 to drink driving.
The court heard Magennis had been a truck driver for more than 20 years and had no prior similar offending and no criminal history.
He was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.
He was granted a restricted licence for his job as a truck driver and no traffic conviction was recorded.
